We’d like to look back at an inspirational and successful 2016 full of exciting projects, such as the redesign of our BoekWijzer app and a mobile version of Pulse. How have the last 12 months been for you – also successful ones we hope? As a way of showing our appreciation to our customers, we’ve chosen in recent years to make a donation to a deserving charity during the festive season.
BSL availability during the Christmas holidays
BSL will be closing its doors over the Christmas period on Friday 23 December 2016 at 14:00 and Monday 26th December 2016 the whole day.
A small number of employees will provide limited availability from Tuesday 27 December through to Friday 30th December.
We’ll be open for ‘business as usual’ on Monday 2nd January 2017.
Donation – Stichting MOED 2015
In 2015, our traditional Christmas donation went to MOED. MOED is part of the Landelijke Stichting Tegen Zinloos Geweld (National Institute Against Senseless Violence). This organization aims to create greater awareness of bullying, aggression and violence amongst children, and to help them find ways of combating and dealing with such behavior.
Donation – Stichting Leergeld Utrecht 2016
This year, we’ve decided to make our donation to Stichting Leergeld Utrecht. Their mission is to prevent children from impoverished backgrounds missing out on sport, cultural or school activities. Would you like to make a contribution too? Then please go to the Leergeld Utrecht website.
A look back at BSL’s successful 2016 projects
The following is just a small selection of the successful projects we’ve carried out in 2016:
- Our BoekWijzer app was redesigned in 2016. All the familiar features that users know and love are now fully responsive, with new handy functions. And we’ve already received great positive feedback! Click here if you’d like to find out more about BoekWijzer, our literary app.
- We’ve been hard at work on Pulse in the last year too. Pulse is a custom real-time news service, developed by BSL on behalf of a large international consultancy. It’s been a huge success, and is currently used in 20 countries. Following its migration to a global data center, we updated the Pulse software to meet new security guidelines. And earlier in the year, our developers worked on a mobile version of Pulse.
- In close cooperation with ABN AMRO, BSL created and designed the bank’s Signature Registration System (SRS). Over the years, our developers have added extra functionality to meet the ABN AMRO’s changing requirements. ABN AMRO uses its custom system to manage their Power of Attorney and employee records. To keep ahead of new developments and trends, SRS has been migrated to a private cloud. Using the SCRUM-approach, our engineers developed a new SRS release in 2016 to support the private cloud architecture.
- Our developers also worked on the digital platform vrouw.nl. A platform for the modern Dutch woman, with real-life stories, and articles from experts and regular contributors that deal with topical issues. Following its launch, vrouw.nl had more than 500,000 visitors in the first month alone.
A look forward to 2017
We’re looking forward to continue working with our clients in 2017, and to building on our successful relationships with new and challenging projects. And because we at BSL continually look for ways to improve our customer service even further, we’ll be adopting a slightly different approach in 2017. Caroline Bos will become the main point of contact for any non-technical questions customers may have. She’ll be contacting our customers in the New Year. Our engineers will of course still be available to deal with all technical issues and queries.
