CRV maintains a comprehensive database of herd records including many photos. The Bright Side of Life (BSL) was therefore asked to develop the Digital Photo Archive (DPA), an image database. A BSL-developed prototype for the next generation of the mijnBibliotheek.nl website aims to bring the existing site in line with ‘Web 2.0’ standards, and to enable users/ local libraries to create an optimal library experience. A widget showing the location of libraries and their opening times within a Google Maps page was one of the initial developments. We went on to develop more than 40 different widgets for integration within local library sites. (more…)
BSL developed the Leesplan.nl website at the request of Stichting Lezen. A leading Dutch Institute for teaching reading skills. The goal of the site? To systematically promote literacy and reading in schools and childcare organizations. Guided by the site, users can effortlessly create and maintain individual reading plans. These plans are created using pre-defined teaching blocks and exercises drawn from the national Project Bank. This is a library of components, also developed by BSL.

Developed by BSL, DilemmaMatch is a unique social media app to find out what others around the world think about a whole range of topics. Each and every person sees the world differently and from a different angle. People have different beliefs, hobbies and opinions. The Netherlands Institute of War Documentation manages one of the largest collections of wartime images in the world. Their World War II Image Bank website gives access to a selection from their unique digital archive. The success of the website encouraged over 30 other institutes to participate in the creation of a joint database. These include world-famous institutes such as the Anne Frank Foundation, and the Dutch Resistance Museum. Their image collections can be managed using our FRS software. Selections made from their collections are available online. Visitors to the public website can search through the published images, and can order their own copies using the integrated e-commerce features.
