BSL was recently approached by the Landelijke Stichting Tegen Zinloos Geweld (National Institute Against Senseless Violence), asking us to make a donation, or a contribution in the form of an advert in their magazine “MOED”. We decided to sponsor their magazine as we, like everyone else, see this as a worthy cause to support. No-one wants to see people victimized, especially children, which is the focus of the MOED campaign.
EnToen Nu – our education app
As a software company, we sometimes work in the education sector, and have collaborated with schools during the design and development of custom software. One of our recent school-related projects was carried out in partnership with a primary school near Utrecht (the Klimroos), together with educational advisers and the Institute that developed and supports the Canon of Dutch History (EnToen). This national timeline of Dutch history comprises 50 carefully-selected historical snapshots that provide Dutch children with a knowledge of history that will be useful throughout their life. Together, we created the EnToen Nu and EnToen Lite apps for iOS and Android, now used by thousands of school children throughout the Netherlands.
During the development process, we had frequent contact with kids from the school. They helped us test the app, giving us feedback on it’s use and ideas for improvements. We saw placing an advert in MOED magazine as the perfect opportunity to promote the EnToen app, while at the same time sponsoring the Landelijke Stichting Tegen Zinloos Geweld. We’re fully behind it’s campaign against violence and bullying in schools, and saw this is an ideal opportunity to help!
MOED magazine
MOED magazine contains numerous tips on how to combat bullying, and teaches the difference between “teasing” and “bullying”. It also provides information about how to make children aware of the consequences of this type of behavior, and tips designed to help victims know how to react to protect themselves, and their friends. In other words – a great resource, and a reliable source of information.
The magazine has been distributed to all primary schools throughout the Netherlands. If you are interested, you too can make a donation on www.moed.nl.
