NBD Biblion is a well-known publisher and information provider specializing in the library- and education branch. Their MIPS production system – developed by BSL – forms an important basis for providing weekly, up-to-date information to its clients, including libraries. We’re working on a new MIPS development for their Windows clients.
MIPS development: New Windows interfaces
Our engineers are currently giving MIPS a new look, making improvements to user interfaces to ensure they fit in with the most recent Windows versions.
Alongside the many web services and web applications, MIPS also comprises a series of Windows applications. These applications are used to manage book descriptions, multimedia titles, reviews and other media, including title information, workflow and planning, as well as (financial) administration for reviews and reviewers.
Why a fresh look?
The introduction of higher resolution screens, together with new versions of Windows, called for changes to be made to all the Windows user interfaces in MIPS. The planned improvements make the information displayed easier to read – following updated font guidelines from Microsoft. We are also introducing new navigation components, with our main focus on improving work efficiency and workflows. The extensively revised MIPS interfaces will be fully up-to-date, ready for Windows 10, and designed to more easily support future updates.
