NBD Biblion aims to provide its customers with up-to-date and accurate information about every new publication as quickly as possible after it appears. To this end, BSL developed the Media Information Production System (MIPS), providing NBD Biblion with a comprehensive custom-made title registration- and production system.
NBD Biblion’s MoM (More over Media) system is a publication platform for title data and additional information, based on BSL’s FRS asset management system for managing and publishing large numbers of multimedia documents. Numerous library systems make use of MoM and FRS, with public libraries being the largest user.

In 2009, BSL was asked to create a so-called ‘Digital Showcase’ – Rotunda. The goals: promote sales in bookshops, and encourage lending in libraries. How? By presenting books, CDs, and other media in an attractive and innovative way, using touchscreens. Using these screens, library and bookstore visitors can browse through virtual bookshelves – simply using hand gestures. Rotunda was born. (more…)
