ANP News Service
The ANP (Netherlands national news agency) is the most important news provider in The Netherlands. It provides news coverage for the Dutch daily newspapers, radio, television and the internet. Two of the first web services they provided were the ANP News Service and News Archive, both of which were designed and developed by BSL. Together with the ANP we defined the requirements, and created custom web applications using Oracle and Autonomy (HPE IDOL) technology. This offered high performance, high availability (24/7) and security. Most importantly: they delivered up-to-date news and archive material to ANP subscribers throughout the world. (more…)

VAN EyCK Cultural Archive
The VAN EyCK image archive is a cultural online service. It was introduced by the VAN EyCK foundation in Leiden, and developed by BSL. The name is an acronym for ‘Visual Arts Network for the Exchange of Cultural Knowledge’. The system provides access to a virtual museum of still images and catalogue records. A database describing a vast range of art objects, artists from different time periods and genres, and from different art institutes. BSL played a major role in the project. First developing a prototype, and later creating the database and website. (more…)
